Last few days to register to vote!

West Oxfordshire District Council is urging residents to make sure they are registered to vote before it’s too late.

To vote at the General and local elections next month, you must apply to be registered by the 20 April deadline.

Electoral Registration Officer Keith Butler is advising residents not already registered, that they need to act now. He said, “It’s been five years since the last General Election. If you want to have your say, you have to be registered to vote. Sometimes people don’t realise that they need to re-register each year. Anyone who has moved house in the past few months should also check that they are registered at their new address.

“Poll cards have been posted to all those already registered to vote. If you have not received one, it could mean you are not on the electoral roll and, are therefore, not able to vote on the 7 May.”

You can now apply to register online. Simply fill in your name, address, date of birth, national insurance number and a few other details. The whole process only takes a few minutes and is the simplest way to register.

The registration deadline is midnight on Monday 20 April 2015.
