Leafield fete is back again this summer!

Leafield fete and dog show will swing into action on Sunday June 30th on The Green between 2.00pm and 4.00pm. There will be a large variety of stalls, tea and cakes, children’s games, plants, books, a tabletop sale, tombola and raffle. Other not-to-be-missed attractions include competitions, an owl display and a special performance by Britain’s Got Talent handbell-ringing sensations, Gay and Alan Cooper.

jake1Disappointed that the village has missed out on holding an annual fete for the past couple of years, 15-year-old Jake Acock has been the driving force behind the revival of the event.

‘We haven’t had a fete in Leafield for a while, which is a shame because I believe it brings the community together,’ says Jake, a pupil at Burford School. ‘There’s a danger of events like this dying out because there are not enough people willing to get involved.’

The fete promises to be a great afternoon with activities for all ages, food, entertainment and music. Visitors can also admire the ‘best-dressed wheelie bins’ that will be decorating the village and there will also be the chance to have a go at handbell ringing with Gay and Alan, the Wallingford couple who were semi-finalists in television’s Britain’s Got Talent.
