Update from the November Parish Council Meeting

This month we discussed:

Temporary No Parking Signs for the Greens – following several instances of the Greens being damaged by vehicles, signs are being made by Councillors to remind residents, visitors and contractors not to drive over or park on the Greens.

Village Hall – the Committee continue to work through grant funding applications for the extension project but there is an urgent need for additional Committee members to help with the workload of running the Hall, which currently has many bookings each week. Please contact Gina Pearce by emailing ginapearcelpc@outlook.com if you are able to offer some help.

Village Hall Car Park – it was agreed to progress this project by working with contractors Wilsham Consulting to produce a final design and to take the project to tender.

Burial Ground – The plot of land adjacent to the existing Churchyard now has Planning Permission to be used as a burial ground. The Council are working with Cemetery Development Services to produce a tender pack and design drawings so this project can also be taken to tender.

Once the car park and burial ground projects have been tendered and the Council has firm project costs there will be a consultation exercise with the village to ensure that any projects taken forward will be done so with the support of the local community.

Climate Change Sub Committee – a new date has been set for this meeting and we’d like to offer our apologies for the late postponement of the previous meeting. All are welcome to the discussions on potential future initiatives for the Village on Wednesday 20th November at 8.15pm in the Village Hall.

Red Phone Box Project – a further £160 has been raised for this project by the recent Garage Sale and from donations.

Daffodils – following compensation from Gigaclear a further 500 more Wild Daffodil bulbs have been purchased and planted on The Mile, the Finstock Road and at the Fordwell turnoff.

The next Parish Council meeting is on Wednesday 13th November at 8pm in the Pavilion, Leafield Village Hall.
